brian z is a visual artist, multi-discipline performer, and educator based in the Washington DC metropolitan area. His experience includes work in theatre, music, dance and visual arts. Mr. Z (Ziegler) received his BA from Virginia Wesleyan University and MFA from the George Washington University. Performances have included work off-Broadway, on stage, film/television, and numerous private and corporate events. Visual arts experience has included showings in VA, PA, MD, and WDC, with collectors ranging into the Southern and Central US. Brian's visual art work includes paper & book arts, painting with mixed media, and assemblage. Teaching has included preschool through adult; public schools, universities, and private instruction. Mr. Z's current focus includes creating new visual artworks and providing private instruction in voice and theatre techniques.

brian z's vocal skills have contributed to nationally and internationally award winning events. Studies have included work with recording artists Ronnie Wells & Ron Elliston, and Lisa Rich. Brian's special interests include jazz vocals with emphasis on lyric interpretation and improvisation.
brian z is available for vocals at your service or event. Additional genres include pop, musical theatre, and contemporary spiritual music. Brian is intent on respectful modification of lyrics to create an inclusive and engaging experience for the audience/participants. In some instances Mr. Z can accompany himself on keyboard or piano. Theatrical performances for brian z have included a vast array of venues, from the posh to the somewhat frightening. Roles have included the range from Shakespeare and Shaw to "Little Shop of Horrors." Brian was a long-time company member of "Now This," a DC based music and theatre comedy improv troupe. Brian also spent a number of years working in special events, which included a very broad range of character and theme based roles, as well as utilizing vocal and dance skills.

Mr. Z has coordinated modest apartments and multi-million dollar homes featured on television.
